11. Why are you better than Warby Parker? Why are you more expensive than Warby Parker?

Warby Who…?

Not everyone will be our client and not everyone can offer glasses. Therefore Warby Parker is not our competitors… Warby Parker currently has a clientele that will eventually turn to us for an outstanding service and product and we thank them for that.

Just imagine the following; you have the best “Rolex” watch money can buy, or the best “Teddy Blake” bag and now you are going to put on inexpensive eyewear… look average like everyone else around you. Why? What’s the purpose of your hard work to look and fit in with everyone else around you…? When you’re wearing your eye glasses or your sunglasses, you should identify with a unique style that defines who you are.

Don’t buy inexpensive glasses, make an investment for something that will last a long time and glasses that shows great quality.

12. Why your Blue Light Lenses are much more than others?

Our blue light lenses has made any dent in the industry because they protect 95% of blue light without having a cosmetic differential on the color of the lens compare to other companies (amazon) that provide you with blue light lenses at a very affordable price, but only protects you 15 to 20% of blue light protection.

13. What can Blue Light do to your eyes? How and Why is Blue Light bad for you?

Scientists at the University of Toledo may have discovered how blue light emitted from your technology has a potential to lead to macular degeneration — one of the leading causes of vision loss in the United States.

“It’s no secret that blue light harms our vision by damaging the eye’s retina” said Ajith Karunarathne, PhD, assistant professor at the University of Toledo’s department of chemistry and biochemistry in a released statement (http://utnews.utoledo.edu/index.php/08_08_2018/ut-chemists-discover-how-blue-light-speeds-blindness).

Macular degeneration is the result of photoreceptor cell death in the retina.

The function of the photoreceptor cells is to capture visual images and signal them to the brain using a molecule called retinal.

Retinal, which is produced by the eye, is triggered by blue light and causes various chemical reactions. These

reactions within the eye can be poisonous to the photoreceptor cell molecules rendering them damaged.

Let’s not forget how difficult it can be to go to sleep and have a good night sleep of rest after being on the computer for so long, so many hours…

15. Do you Take FSA or HSA?

Yes! We happily accept HSA and HSA

HSA FSA use it or lose it – why not use for your eyewear and contacts?

Medical expenses can come as a unexpected burden if you don’t have proper coverage. Luckily, you may be eligible to enroll into a Health Savings Account or a Flexible Spending Account based which can lighten the load of some expenses and these plans can come out of your pay – pretax!

16. What is HSA / FSA?

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are essentially personally savings accounts. However, the funds can only be used for qualified medical expenses.

Both accounts work similarly and are usually withdrawn from an employee’s check, pre-tax which also reduced their tax liability. The employee also can choose how much they contribute to their account.

Some employers offer both HSA and FSA accounts for employees, depending upon the insurance plan they offer.

17. What Form of Payment you Accept?

We gladly accept Amex, Visa, Master Card, Zelle Transfer, Cash, and Check (with a valid ID). All debit/credit card transactions are via our card processor without any additional charge and 100% secure.

18. Do you take eye insurance? – Why don’t you accept Vision Insurance (plans)?

One simple reason, we’re a boutique and we honor same prices our name brands sell for. How come?

We want to focus in providing a outstanding customer service experience to each patient; by NOT being limited to options, frames and features by 3rd parties industry that want to control the field of optical.

When you visit an optometrist to have your eyes checked and buy glasses, odds are that your insurance plan will benefit from every part of the transaction. Most of the vision insurance market is dominated by two large, vertically integrated plans (“VSP & EyeMed” associated as a 3rd party for Aetna, Cigna, BlueCross BlueShield etc…). These insurance plans reportedly own many of the country’s largest vision care locations (popular big box stores like BJ’s, lensCrafters, Pearl Vision, Target and many more…). They also own labs, manufacture lenses, and own most of the recognizable frame makers. In the other hand vision plans have flown under the radar as they’ve come to dominate various steps of the supply chain for vision care practices. Locking out small local businesses in wanting to provide fashionable and exclusive eyewear collections. In addition forcing optical shops on limited lenses options for the patients. Let’s put it in simple words…Would you buy glasses and contact lenses in the same place where you buy your toilet paper? Exactly!

Luxury brand prices are priced correctly and fair market value. At Michael Alexander Optical Boutique our prices are correctly priced for that same reason and in order to services our community.

Michael Alexander Optical Boutique would provide our guest with a detail receipt for them to be able to submitted directly with their vision plan and get directly reimbursement.
